Pattaya Music Festival

Pattaya Music Festival: The musical blast returns to Pattaya
Sontaya Khunpleum, Minister of Tourism and Sports, presided over the press conference of Pattaya Music Festival 2003 at Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Head Office, New Phetburi Road. Also in attendance were TAT governor Chutamas Siriwan and Pattaya Mayor Phairat Suthithamrongkul.
Pattaya Music Festival will be held in Pattaya for 3 days, 21-23 March 2003 at 6 p.m. - midnight. The festival features musical performances of over 100 Thailand's famous artists from 40 record companies. International artists would be invited to this event.
Apart from the music performances, there will be a walking street with numerous entertainments such as music programs, booths of record companies and film production houses, and musical instruments, CDs, and music magazines on sale.
"The aims of the festival are not only promoting tourism; they were also cultivating Pattaya and Thailand's good image. Being the host of APEC 2003 provides a good opportunity to promote Thailand. Intensive tourism promotional activities should be held to optimize this opportunity. We strongly believe that this festival will certainly cultivate Pattaya's image as the city of music festivals."
Pattaya Music Festival was first held in 2002. It is part of TAT's Thailand Grand Festival project. About 300,000 people attended the festival last year and spend around 1,051.71 baht per person. This year's festival is aimed at gaining at least 700 million baht, comparing to 640.49 million baht last year.
